Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings: The Punjab Kings team, which was topping the points table in IPL 2026, finally had to lose this position. Punjab team also had to face defeat from Sunrisers Hyderabad, due to which it now dropped to second position. Sunriders Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings by 33 runs in a one-sided fashion. Batting first, they scored 235 runs in 20 overs. Heinrich Klaasen scored the maximum 69 runs for Hyderabad. Ishan Kishan played an inning of 55 runs. Abhishek Sharma contributed 35 runs and Travis Head contributed 38 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy also played an inning of 29 runs.
Punjab's batting failed
In response to the huge target of 236 runs, Punjab team fell apart. His first wicket fell in the first over. Pat Cummins dismissed Priyansh Arya for just 1 run. After this, in the next over, Nitish Reddy removed Prabhasimran for 3 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer was also out after scoring 5 runs. Stoinis tried to do something by scoring 28 runs and Suryansh Shedge scored 25 runs but it proved unsuccessful. Cooper Conley definitely played a brilliant century but his runs could not help the team win. Punjab team has not been able to beat Hyderabad at home for the last 12 years.

Strong performance by Hyderabad bowlers
Not only batting, Hyderabad bowlers also performed well. Captain Pat Cummins bowled brilliantly and took 2 wickets for just 34 runs in 4 overs. He took the wickets of Priyansh Arya and Suryansh Shedge. Spinner Shivang Kumar also took 2 wickets. Nitish Reddy took 1 wicket for 11 runs in 2 overs. Ishan Malinga, Saqib Hussain took 1-1 wicket.

In the points table of IPL 2026, Hyderabad team has now reached the first position with 14 points in 11 matches. Punjab suffered its third consecutive defeat and is at second position with 13 points. RCB has 12 points in 9 matches. Rajasthan team has also collected 12 points in 10 matches.
