Veteran film producer R. B. Choudary died in a tragic road accident near Udaipur on Tuesday, sending shockwaves across the South film industry. The founder of Super Good Films played a key role in shaping several successful careers across Tamil and Telugu cinema. His body was brought to Chennai on Wednesday.

RB Choudary’s filmography includes several landmark titles such as Cheran Pandian, Nattamai, Poove Unakkaga, Suryavamsam, Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Aanandham, Jilla, and Godfather. His most recent project was Maareesan, starring Vadivelu and Fahadh Fasil. His passing marks the end of an era in South Indian cinema, though his legacy will continue through the films he produced and the many careers he helped shape.

Tamil superstar and politician Vijay, who recently secured a major political victory in the Tamil Nadu Election 2026, paid his final respects to R.B. Choudary. Vijay placed a flower garland on the mortal remains and was seen emotionally embracing Jiiva, the late producer’s son.

Vijay’s father and filmmaker S. A. Chandrasekhar also visited the residence to offer condolences and pay tribute to the veteran producer.

Veteran Producer R.B. Choudary Passes Away In A Car Accident

R.B. Choudary built a formidable legacy with Super Good Films. Over the decades, he backed several commercially successful and family-oriented films. He worked with top actors and directors while also helping launch many new talents. His sudden demise has left the industry in deep mourning, with leading stars expressing grief and recalling his immense contributions to cinema.

Pawan Kalyan shared a heartfelt note on X, writing, “The demise of renowned producer and Super Good Films head Shri R.B. Choudary Garu has left me stunned. I cannot believe the tragic news that Shri Choudary Garu met with a fatal road accident near Udaipur in Rajasthan. I pray to God that his soul attains peace.”

He added, “He produced the film Suswagatham in which I acted. It achieved great success. Expertise in film production and business was his forte. He selected stories suitable for family viewing and produced films featuring excellent songs. The sister sentiment in Annavaram captivated family audiences. He earned a special place as a producer in both Telugu and Tamil film industries. I convey my deepest condolences to Shri R.B. Choudary Garu’s family.”

Rajinikanth, Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi And Others Pay Tribute

Rajinikanth also mourned the loss. He wrote, “My dear friend, Super Good Films’ R.B. Choudary was a top-notch producer and a wonderful human being. He gave opportunities to countless young directors and kept the film industry thriving. The news of his untimely death has left me in great shock and immense sorrow. My deepest condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”

Chiranjeevi too expressed grief over the tragic loss. He wrote, “Deeply heartbroken to hear about the sudden and tragic demise of legendary producer R.B. Choudary garu. I have known him for many years and was recently associated with him on my film Godfather through Super Good Films. He shaped the careers of many talented directors and actors and brought countless stories to life. His contribution to Indian cinema is beyond words. My heartfelt condolences to his family, and strength to them in this unimaginable loss.”

Venkatesh Daggubati, Khushbu Sundar Pay Heartfelt Tribute

Venkatesh Daggubati highlighted their long association and wrote, “Saddened beyond words to hear about the tragic passing of R.B. Choudary garu. We shared a deep personal bond over many years, and I was fortunate to be associated with Super Good Films for Suryavamsam, Raja, Seenu and Sankranti. His passion and invaluable contributions to cinema will live on through his work.”

Actor and politician Khushbu Sundar also remembered him fondly. She wrote, “Deeply saddened to know that one of our most renowned producers, a thorough gentleman, R.B. Choudary sir, is no longer with us. His untimely demise is shocking. I have done quite a number of films under his banner. He was one of the most respected members of the film fraternity. I will always remember him as a man with a smiling face and a very firm handshake. Deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.”
