Inspector General of Police, Vindhyachal Zone, Mirzapur R.P. Singh visited the Police Line complex on Wednesday, 06.05.2026, on the second day of the annual inspection of Sonbhadra district. During the inspection, the works of the Field Unit, District Control Room and Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) were reviewed and necessary directions were given to the concerned.
Thereafter, an important crime review meeting was organized with all the gazetted officers and police station in-charges of the district. In this meeting the following agenda points were discussed in detail and the progress was reviewed. Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police Operation Rishabh Runwal, Additional Superintendent of Police Headquarters Anil Kumar, all area officers, all police station in-charges of the district and other concerned officers were present in the review meeting.

Main agenda points of the review meeting – Review of total pending investigations circle wise/police station wise till 30-04-2026, numerical details of pending investigations for disposal in the time limit of 60/90 days, current status of pending investigations of NCR,
Year-wise details of the charge sheet/final report sent after investigation which has not yet been filed in the court. Details of action taken against wanted criminals and criminals declared as reward, list of top-10 criminals identified at the district level and action taken against them, strict punitive action taken against various types of identified mafias, H.S. opened from 01.01.2026 to 30.04.2026. Similarly, Goonda Act: Status of trial of Goonda Act cases and action against district criminals, Gangster Act: U.P. Details of action taken under the Gang Act and confiscation of property of criminals, numerical details of registered gangs, review of cases of illegal conversion registered till 30.04.2026. Details of seizures made in crimes (robbery, theft), major seizures made under Narcotic Drugs (NDPS) and Excise Act and action against the accused, effective preventive action under Cow Slaughter and Animal Cruelty Act. Similarly, review of remaining murder, robbery, robbery and vehicle theft cases for unveiling, S.R.O. Current status of pending charges in the case (murder, dowry death, rape, robbery etc.).
At the end of the meeting, clear instructions were given by the Inspector General of Police that transparent policing and prompt and transparent resolution of problems of the general public should be the top priority. Crime control: Action should be taken against identified criminals and mafia under the policy of zero tolerance. Quality investigation: Ensure timely disposal of pending cases so that the victims can get justice.
