Gwyneth Keyworth and Timothy Spall are back with a new season of their murder-mystery series, Death Valley.
Their unlikely partnership sees detective Janie Mallowan team up with television actor John Chapel, who was once her idol as TV detective Caesar.
Given the humour and thrilling 'whodunnits', the series was a runaway hit on BBC One and iPlayer last year, becoming the broadcaster's biggest comedy launch in five years.
Thanks to its instant success, Death Valley has been renewed for season two and will air on Sunday, 17th May at 8:15pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
Also starring in the show are Janie's pathologist colleague Helen Baxter (played by Alexandria Riley), alongside regulars DCI Barry Clarke (Steffan Rhodri), DC Evan Chaudhry (Rithvik Andugula), and Gavin & Stacey star Melanie Walters as Yvonne.
Also starring in the new season of Death Valley are acclaimed actors Mark Lewis Jones and Camille Coduri, we can exclusively reveal.
Mark Lewis Jones, 61, has a face instantly recognizable from the small screen, thanks to his extensive acting credits, and will now appear in the second episode of Death Valley.
The actor, from Wales, has a successful career spanning decades and has featured in some of television's finest dramas, including Netflix's The Crown and Baby Reindeer, HBO's Chernobyl, and the popular Scottish series Outlander, to name a few.
He recently played Sir Oswald Coote in Agatha Christie's Seven Dials and Caleb Williams in the gripping ITV series Out There, while Game of Thrones fans will also know Mark as Shagga in the American fantasy drama.
In 2024, he was honored with the prestigious Siân Phillips Award at the BAFTA Cymru Awards for his outstanding contribution to film and television over a 38-year career.
The finer details of Mark's role in Death Valley are currently being kept under wraps.
Actress Camille Coduri has also joined the BBC series for a guest role.
The actress, from London, is famed for playing Jackie Tyler in Doctor Who between 2005 and 2010, during which David Tennant played the lead role.
The 61-year-old first landed her major acting role in 1988 when she was cast as Carol Braithwaite in the television series Campaign, and she has since gone on to star in a long list of other shows, including A Touch of Frost, Nelson's Column, Adulthood, Ashes to Ashes, and Midsomer Murders.
Between 2018 and 2021, Camille portrayed Denise King in the BBC sitcom King Gary, and most recently played Peggy in Big Boys. She will appear in episode three of Death Valley.
