Shaam has been quite vocal about his support for Thalapathy Vijay. Asked about how the Jana Nayagan actor's triumph felt to him, he said he predicted this win about two years ago: "To be honest, I knew this way back in 2024. One morning I called him and told him 'anna, I saw you sitting in the chief minister's chair, and people are honouring you.' Then recently, on May 3, I sent him a message saying my dream will come true. And let me tell you that my thoughts haven't come overnight."

What were some key promises made by Vijay's party in its manifesto?

Shaam, who played Ajay Rajendran, Vijay's brother in Vamshi Paidipally's Varisu, also recalled asking the actor if he knew he would become big in cinema. "Vijay anna is a man with so much conviction, and his heart is pure and honest. He always says that he has reached this position because of his fans. So in order to give back the love, he said he wanted to do something. Once I asked him if he knew he would become this big, anna said to me, 'I came only to act, I did not know I would win so much love,'" he said.

Asked if Thalapathy spoke about his political plans to him, Shaam said he did not, but he always believed that something divine was guiding Vijay's path. "He has one divine force guiding him. I have witnessed this. The divine force guides him so much that I am sure that the chair (political throne) will always belong to him. Nobody in his position will do this, nobody will let go of their career and do it."

Asked if he is going to join politics soon, he laughed it off. "No... I don't see myself there."

Shaam is currently working on Srinivasa Mangapuram, an upcoming 2026 Telugu intense romantic action drama directed by Ajay Bhupathi (RX 100 fame). The film marks the acting debut of Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni (nephew of Mahesh Babu) and Rasha Thadani (daughter of Raveena Tandon). He is also working on the Kannada film Ruby.
