Sitamarhi Medical College in Bihar now Mata Sita, got cabinet approval!

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary is going to expand the cabinet in Bihar on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday, in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, the decision was taken to change the name of Sitamarhi Medical College Hospital after Mother Sita.

Giving information about this after the cabinet meeting, an official said that 20 proposals were approved in this cabinet meeting. In the meeting, it was decided to name the Government Medical College and Hospital under construction in Sitamarhi district of the state after Mother Sita.

Sitamarhi is a very sacred religious place located in the Mithila region of Bihar, which is mainly famous as the birthplace of Mother Sita. It is a major pilgrimage site associated with the Ramayana period, which holds special significance for Hindu devotees.

In the meeting, it was also decided to transfer the total land of 1.85 acres (including road) of Biada adjacent to the airport campus under Industrial Area, Patna (Urban) to the Airport Authority of India, Patna free of cost. With the said decision, the said land can be used for airport infrastructure or other works.

Apart from this, in the meeting, approval was given to extend the period of the MoU signed between the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Bihar, Patna and BIT, Mesra for the extension center of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi, established in Patna till 16 December 2030.

In this Cabinet meeting, in-principle approval was also given to implement the Bihar Urban Transformation Program by obtaining loan assistance of 500 million dollars from the World Bank for making the selected urban centers of the state economically strong and productive and for the development of integrated urban economic areas.

The government believes that planned development of urban areas, creation of economic and infrastructure in cities and urbanization will be promoted. Additionally, this program will be a major initiative towards sustainable, climate-sensitive and economically robust urbanization in the state, thereby encouraging long-term urban development and private investment.

In the meeting, approval was also given to create a total of 18 different posts of non-gazetted category for Benipur Sub-Divisional Court under Darbhanga Judiciary and one each for the Court of District and Additional Sessions Judge in Madhubani (Sadar) Judiciary.
