In South Tamil Nadu, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Tenkasi. In the Delta districts—Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, and Nagapattinam—rain may occur during the evening hours due to convective heat activity.

Relief from Scorching Heat

Due to the recent spells of rain, temperatures that had been hovering above 40°C for the past few weeks are now expected to drop by 2°C to 4°C below normal levels. The impact of scorching winds will diminish significantly in hot zone districts such as Vellore, Trichy, and Madurai. The cool atmosphere during the nights will offer urban residents a respite from the summer heat.
