The tension in West Bengal politics increased further when BJP leaders reacted sharply to the murder of Suvendu Adhikari's PA Chandranath. Expressing anger over the matter, a BJP leader warned in a warning tone that “we will settle scores along with the thread” and “will hang us upside down after the 9th”. After this statement the politics of the state has heated up. BJP is calling it a case of political violence, while the opposition is accusing BJP of spoiling the atmosphere over the allegations. After the incident, security has been increased in the area and the police is busy investigating the matter.
