Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the first phase of Census-2027 in Uttar Pradesh. For the first time, digital census, self-enumeration facility, caste census and forest villages have been included. 5.47 lakh personnel will be deployed in this campaign.

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday formally launched the first phase of Census-2027 in Uttar Pradesh. In the program organized at the Chief Minister's residence, he started the house listing and house counting work with the spirit of 'Our Census, Our Development'. During this, the Chief Minister said that census is not just a process of counting the population, but it is a strong basis for holistic, inclusive and planned development.

Digital Census 2027: Correct data is important for development plans

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today is the time for data based decisions. Accurate data obtained from census plays an important role in education, health, infrastructure, social security and effective functioning of various government schemes. He said that census is a medium to ensure that even the last person of the society can join the mainstream of development and get the benefits of government schemes equally.

PM Modi Digital Census: Digital census will be held for the first time in the country

The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, digital census is being conducted for the first time in the country. He said that in the first phase the work of house listing and counting of houses will be done. Common citizens have also been given the option of self-counting from May 07 to May 21, 2026. Under this, people will be able to enter their own information on the digital platform. After this, census workers will go door-to-door and do the listing work. In the second phase every person will be counted.

Caste Census 2027: Caste census and forest villages will also be included

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this time caste enumeration has also been included in the census. Apart from this, for the first time forest villages are also being made a part of the census process. With this, the social and economic situation of the state and the country can be assessed more accurately.

Real Time Data Census Portal: Special portal created for monitoring

The Chief Minister said that in the present times the need for real time data is very high. The census process has been made more transparent, faster and effective with the use of digital technology. For this, a special census portal has been prepared, through which census work will be continuously monitored up to village and ward level.

Uttar Pradesh Population 2027: More than 25 crore population will be counted

The Chief Minister said that the estimated population of Uttar Pradesh is currently around 25 crore 70 lakh. Census work will be conducted in 18 divisions, 75 districts, 350 tehsils, 17 municipal corporations, 745 other urban bodies, 21 cantonment councils, 57,694 gram panchayats and about 1 lakh 4 thousand revenue villages of the state.

Census Staff Recruitment UP: 5.47 lakh personnel will be deployed

To make this big campaign successful, about 5.47 lakh personnel are being deployed. These include 4.50 lakh enumerators, 85 thousand supervisors and 12 thousand state and district level officers. The Chief Minister said that about 5.35 lakh employees have been given training for both the phases.

CM Yogi Appeal: Cooperate in census by giving correct information

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the people of the state to consider the census as a national responsibility and take active participation in it. He said that every person should get his census done at only one place and provide correct and factual information, so that an accurate outline of future development plans can be prepared. The Chief Minister also congratulated all the officers, employees and citizens engaged in the census work.
