Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has reportedly taken a short break from work after undergoing a minor eye surgery. The actor, who is currently enjoying the success of his latest release Bhoot Bangla, is now resting following the medical procedure.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the surgery took place on May 6 and was a routine corrective procedure related to his eyesight. Sources said the actor is doing well and will take some time off before resuming professional commitments.

Before taking the break, Akshay had completed the Kerala shooting schedule of his upcoming film with filmmaker Anees Bazmee. The untitled project also stars Vidya Balan and Rashii Khanna in important roles.

Akshay has been maintaining a packed schedule over the past few months. Following the release of Bhoot Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, the actor immediately moved on to filming his next project.

Meanwhile, Bhoot Bangla continues to perform strongly at the box office. The horror-comedy has reportedly earned around Rs 232 crore worldwide so far. Made on an estimated budget of Rs 120 crore, the film has emerged as a commercial success and received a positive response from audiences.

Fans have also praised Akshay’s performance in the film, which marked another successful collaboration between the actor and director Priyadarshan.
