By spending around Rs 25,000 you can get this visa with a validity of five years. Let us know what are its features and conditions.
What is Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)?
This is a 'multiple entry' visa, aimed at foreigners wishing to stay in Thailand for a long period of time. Through this visa any person can come and go to Thailand for 5 years. Every time you come, you can stay there for 180 days. If necessary, this period can be extended for another 180 days.
Who can apply?
This visa is especially for these people…
- Digital Nomad: People who can do their work sitting from any corner of the world, like IT professionals, freelancers etc.
- Students/Trainees: People who want to learn Thai cooking or take Thai boxing training.
- For medical needs: People who come to Thailand for wellness programs or treatment.
One important thing is that on this visa you cannot work in any company in Thailand. Your work should be for a foreign company or client only.
Terms related to money and rupees
To get this visa you will have to prove that you have enough money. For this, you should have 5,00,000 Thai Baht (THB) in your account, which is approximately Rs 14.65 lakh in Indian Rupees. You will have to show documents like bank statement or salary certificate as proof. Keep in mind that cryptocurrencies or shares will not be considered as financial proof.
What if I have to stay longer?
If you want to stay there even after 180 days, you will have to pay an additional fee of 1,900 Thai Baht (about Rs 5,500). This will extend your stay for another 180 days. Overall, this new visa is a great opportunity for those who have the convenience of 'work from home' or who want to learn or undergo treatment while enjoying the beauty of Thailand.
