Melbourne. Cricket Australia on Thursday confirmed that its players, including captain Pat Cummins, will be cleared to fulfill their commitments in IPL 2026 and will be exempted for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan starting on May 30. The league stage of the IPL will conclude on May 24 while the final of the tournament will be played on May 31. Australian players are scheduled to reach Islamabad on May 23, which will be the final leg of the IPL.

Said, “Yes, we have received information that the Australian players included in our team will stay for the IPL.” Apart from captain Cummins, Australian opener Travis Head is also a part of the Sunrisers team. Hyderabad team is currently leading the table with 14 points and is a strong contender for a place in the play-offs.

Other Australian players playing in the IPL are Josh Hazlewood, Tim David (both Royal Challengers Bangalore), Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis (both Lucknow Super Giants), Xavier Bartlett, Marcus Stoinis, Cooper Connolly (all three Punjab Kings), Matthew Short (Chennai Super Kings), Mitchell Starc (Delhi Capitals) and Cameron Green (Kolkata Knight Riders). Of these, if Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders do not reach the knockout stage, then Green and Starc can leave the IPL after the league stage.

Delhi Capitals are currently at seventh position in the table with eight points from 10 matches, while Knight Riders are at eighth position with seven points from nine matches. On the other hand, Super Giants’ hopes of reaching the playoffs are almost over as they are in 10th place with just four points from nine matches. Therefore, Marsh and Inglis may also join the Australian team in Pakistan before the first ODI.

However, Cricket Australia has not yet announced the team for this tour. However, players like Hazlewood, David, Connolly may have to stay here because Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings also have every possibility of reaching the playoffs. Now he is expected to join the national team in Bangladesh in the first week of June. Australia will play three ODIs and as many T20 Internationals against Bangladesh from June 9.
