Mysuru: In an attempt to curb public urination, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has installed stainless steel reflective panels along a compound wall near the Central Bus Stand.
The project has been implemented on an 80-metre-long vacant compound wall where mirror-finish stainless steel sheets have been fixed. According to NDTV reports, officials said the reflective panels are intended to act as a psychological deterrent, as people standing near the wall can be clearly seen by passersby.
To ensure visibility during night hours, LED lights have also been installed around the panels. According to reports, the lighting system automatically turns on along with the streetlights in the area.
The civic body stated that the project was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 9.5 lakh and described it as the first initiative of its kind in Karnataka.
The move has received mixed responses from the public, with some residents appreciating the innovative effort to address a long-standing civic problem.
