Soni Tripathi, a resident of Nawabganj, was married to Prabhudatt Tripathi alias Raja, a resident of Kisundaspur village of Pratapgarh, about 9 years ago. But their married life was not going well from the beginning. A few days after the marriage, husband Prabhudutt quarreled without any reason and threw his wife out of the house. For the last 5 years, Soni was living with great difficulty in her maternal home with her one year old daughter. During this long period, the husband did not even once inquire about her or his daughter.

To teach her husband a lesson, Soni made a master plan. She hid her identity on Instagram, created a new ID and sent a friend request to her husband. Prabhudatt could not recognize his wife and started chatting with her day and night, considering her to be a beautiful girl. Love talks continued between the two for many days. The husband, oblivious of his real life, became desperate to meet the unknown girl.

On the insistence of her husband, a time was fixed to meet at Nagavasuki temple in Daraganj on 2nd May. Prabhudutt reached the temple rejoicing in the joy of meeting his new 'girlfriend'. But seeing his wife Soni standing there smiling, he was shocked. As soon as he realized that he had fallen into the trap of his own wife and his entire secret was exposed, he started creating a ruckus in the temple itself. According to the complaint lodged with the police, he assaulted Soni in anger and also threatened to kill her.
