Honda has been working on its new strategy for some time now, and we recently came across reports of the company planning to introduce new and updated models to the Indian market as part of its revival plan. Honda plans to launch three models on 22 May 2026, and here we have a list of the upcoming Honda models along with all the details you need to know.

Honda City is one of the oldest-running nameplates in Honda India’s lineup. It was a sedan that set a benchmark in this segment. The mid-size sedan is finally set to receive its much-awaited facelift in the Indian market this year. Honda will officially launch the updated sedan on 22 May 2026. We’ve already seen multiple test mule images online, giving us a fair idea of what to expect from the upcoming model.

The upcoming facelift will be based on the fifth-generation City currently on sale in India. In terms of overall design, the sedan is expected to remain largely the same, but subtle changes will give it a fresher look.

We expect a revised front fascia with updated headlamps, front nose, and grille. Honda is also expected to update the front and rear bumpers along with the tail lamps.

On the inside, we expect to see new features such as electrically adjustable front seats, ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with an improved UI, a digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, and a 360-degree camera. The colour theme of the cabin may also change with the facelift.

It will be offered with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, paired with either a manual or CVT gearbox.

On the same day, Honda will also launch the updated strong hybrid version of the Honda City sedan in the market. The exterior design of the sedan is going to be the same as the regular version. It will come with the same set of features as the regular version.

The boot space in the hybrid version will be slightly less when compared to the regular City facelift because of the battery pack and components of the hybrid system. Apart from that, everything else will remain the same.

The Honda City e:HEV facelift will be offered with a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle engine that produces 126 bhp and is paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The hybrid setup is well known for its fuel efficiency. It is the only hybrid sedan in its segment, and this is what makes the Honda City different from its rivals.

Honda is said to be working on a more efficient, lighter, and affordable hybrid system. It remains to be seen whether this new system will debut with the City facelift or if Honda will continue with the existing setup.

Honda announced last year that it plans to bring premium models to India as part of its strategy. The ZR-V, which is also known as the HR-V in the North American and Chinese markets, is going to be one of the models coming to India under this new plan.

The ZR-V will also be launched on 22 May and will become the flagship SUV from the brand in India once launched. The Honda ZR-V will come to India as a CBU, which means it will be a bit expensive. The ZR-V will compete with the likes of the Tiguan R-Line and Tayron in the segment.

It comes with a rounded, crossover-like exterior design. It will feature sleek-looking headlamps, a large front grille, a premium-looking bumper, LED tail lamps, machine-cut alloy wheels, and more.

Honda will offer features like Google Assistant, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Honda Sensing (ADAS), a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, multi-zone climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ventilated seats, and more.

The ZR-V recently received an update internationally, and as part of it, Honda replaced the older 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine in the SUV. It now comes only as a strong hybrid SUV. The older engine has been replaced with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The upcoming ZR-V uses the latest hybrid system that Honda is offering in its other models.
