MS Dhoni has not played a single match in the Indian Premier League. Several videos went viral on social media over the time where MS was seen seriously struggling with his knee. There were previous clarifiction from the franchise that he wount play a few matches in the early phase of the league due to a persistent calf injury.

 Dhoni suffered a calf muscle injury during the pre-season camp in March 2026. He was originally expected to miss only the first two weeks. While batting and wicketkeeping in the nets, he has lacked the confidence to handle high-intensity running (converting ones into twos) required for match conditions.

In the middle there were talks that MS Dhoni didnt want to destable the combination of the side, And now, it has been revealed that he didnt travel with this teaam to Delhi for their upcoming contest with Delhi Capitals. He recently remained in Chennai for rehab.

Chennai Super Kings have kept their playoff hopes alive in the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League with a timely return to form. After struggling in the early phase of the season due to inconsistent bowling performances, CSK have bounced back strongly, winning three of their last five matches. They currently sit sixth on the points table with 10 points from 10 games.

The side heads into the business end of the tournament on the back of two consecutive victories, including a dominant eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals on May 5. Their bowling unit, which leaked runs at an economy of 11.37 earlier in the season, has shown remarkable improvement by picking up 51 wickets at an economy of 8.15 in the last seven matches.

Among the standout performers, Sanju Samson has impressed with 402 runs, while Anshul Kamboj and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad have also played crucial roles.
