Strictly Come Dancing fans believe they have worked out which two TV presenters will be hosting the BBC dance competition this autumn after sharing cryptic comments on a post about the judging line-up. Last year, Claudia Winkleman, 53, and Tess Daly, 56, announced they would be stepping down from the show after 21 years at the helm. Since their departure last December, fans have been speculating about who will replace the dynamic duo on the long-running show.

BBC bosses confirmed their judging panel for this year's series as well as the returning professional dancers, after 10 professionals were axed from the show. Eagle-eyed viewers have noticed that two TV presenters have commented on the official Strictly post, which many believe indicates they could be the new show hosts.

On Reddit, a fan posted a screenshot of Zoe Ball, who wrote: "Boom. Boom," followed by Angela Scanlon, who added: "What a crew." Meanwhile, Strictly judge Motsie Mabuse replied to both of their comments with a string of love heart emojis.

Taking to the social media platform, one fan wrote: "I noticed that they are the only ones from the rumoured 10 to be commenting on the post. Correct me if I am wrong. My dream duo."

Another agreed: "I would absolutely not be mad if these were our hosts. Fit the bill for me, and they both know Strictly well and how it works." A third chimed in with: "Would be absolutely fine with this", while a fourth echoed: "I'd love Angela as a host."

Meanwhile, one user suggested: "Would be two good choices as hosts, Zoe could fill the more serious role (although I still think Emma Willis would have been perfect for that, but won't complain about Zoe), and Angela would fill the Claudia role very well.

"The only thing I would say is Angela might have to balance her humour with seriousness a bit more than she has had to do in other presenting roles. But much, much better than the other rumoured hosts like Rylan and Bradley Walsh."

The Chase host, 65, was one of the favourite presenters rumoured to be taking on the hosting gig and reportedly screen-tested with the BBC last month, but it appears he is pulling out of the running. He and his showbiz pals, Brian Conley, Joe Pasquale and Shane Richie are fully booked for The Prat Pack's Back reunion.

It is understood that Dermot O'Leary, 52, who fronts This Morning on Fridays with his co-host Alison Hammond, 51, has also turned down the opportunity. He was grilled about the BBC job by GMB presenter Richard Madeley, who said: "A couple of quick questions, are you going to do Strictly, are you going to front it?"

Dermot couldn't help but giggle as he bluntly replied: "No. They need to let me know if they want me to do it, because the phone hasn't been ringing. No, I don't think so."
