Karthi signs new Telugu comedy film; Meenakshi Chaudhary joins the film directed by Kalyan Shankar

Karthi has officially started work on his latest Telugu film. The project launched with a grand pooja ceremony in Hyderabad on the last day.
The film marks an important project in Karthi’s career because he enjoys a strong fan base in the Telugu states.
Kalyan Shankar to direct the film
As reported by Money Control, the upcoming entertainer is directed by Kalyan Shankar, who rose to fame after the success of 'MAD' and 'MAD Square'.
Though the makers have not officially revealed the title yet, the movie is said to be a complete comedy entertainer. Reports say that the story will feature fresh characters, humorous situations, and fun-filled moments designed for family audiences. Regular shooting for the project is expected to commence very soon.
Meenakshi Chaudhary plays female lead
Actress Meenakshi Chaudhary has been selected as the female lead opposite Karthi.
Karthi remains one of the few Tamil actors who has consistently worked towards strengthening his presence in Tollywood . His popularity in the Telugu-speaking states has grown steadily over the years.
With films like 'Yuganiki Okkadu' (Aayirathil Oruvan (2010 film), 'Awara', and 'Khaidi', the actor has established a good market in Telugu cinema . He had also acted in the straight Telugu film Oopiri ('Thozha') alongside Nagarjuna.
Karthi earlier spoke about Telugu debut
Back in 2011, Karthi had hinted at the possibility of acting in a Telugu film during an interaction reported by TOI City.
He says, " Naan Mahan Alla , directed by Suseenthiran. I heard that there was a great response for the theatrical release of the Telugu version and we are expecting a good opening for the film. And guess what, I am now brushing up my Telugu diction. I have been received with open arms in Tollywood and if a great script comes my way, I wouldn't mind taking it up." After several years, the actor is finally set to headline another straight Telugu project. Karthi was last seen in 'Vaa Vaathiyaar'.
