UGC NET June 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important notice for candidates applying for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026. The agency has stated that the online registration process for the examination will remain open until 11:50 PM on May 20, 2026. Consequently, candidates who have not yet completed the application process are advised to fill out their forms as soon as possible.

**Payment of Examination Fee is Mandatory**
According to the NTA, candidates must first accurately fill out the online application form, and it is mandatory to pay the prescribed examination fee. Subsequently, candidates should download and securely retain the confirmation page so that it may be utilized if required in the future.

The NTA has also clarified that the application process will be considered complete only for those candidates who have successfully deposited the examination fee. Applications with an incomplete process will not be accepted.

**No Opportunity for Corrections After Fee Payment**
The agency has explicitly stated that no modifications of any kind to the application form will be permitted after the fee has been deposited. Therefore, candidates must fill in all details with extreme care while applying.

In particular, it is essential to carefully verify details such as the candidate's name, father's and mother's names, social category, PwD status, status regarding writing difficulties, requirement for a scribe, the chosen subject, and the examination city.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for the latest updates and essential information regarding the examination.

**Application Process Underway Since April 29**
The application process for UGC NET June 2026 commenced today, April 29, and will continue until May 20. Interested candidates may apply by visiting the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.within the stipulated timeframe.

The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode between June 22 and June 30. The examination will be held for 85 subjects. Information regarding the examination city will be released by June 10, while the admit cards will be made available by June 15, 2026. ...will proceed.

UGC Adds New Subjects
The UGC has included new subjects in its list of disciplines. The UGC announced that 'Statistics' has been added to the list of existing subjects. Furthermore, 'Forestry' has been added to the list of additional subjects. The syllabi for these subjects are available on the official UGC website.
