Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Class 12 public examination results have been released today after considerable anticipation among teachers, parents, and students. The uncertainty was heightened given the context where election results had been announced but a new government had not yet been formed.
Overall Pass Percentage
Across Tamil Nadu, a total of 7.9 lakh students appeared for the examination. Of these, 7.53 lakh students have successfully passed. The overall pass percentage is 95.02 percent, compared to last year’s 95.03 percent, according to Chandramohan, Secretary of the School Education Department.
Girls Outperform Boys
True to past trends, female students have achieved a higher pass rate than their male counterparts. They have secured a pass percentage that is 3.81 percent higher than that of the male students.
District-Wise Performance
In the overall district-wise rankings, Erode has emerged as the top-performing district. It is followed by Sivaganga, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Trichy in the subsequent positions. When considering government schools specifically, Erode district holds first place, Sivaganga second, and Trichy third.
Government vs Private Schools
According to the released results, the pass percentage for government schools stands at 92.16 percent, while the pass percentage for private schools is 98.72 percent.
Prison Inmates’ Performance
Out of the 250 prison inmates who appeared for the exam, 238 have successfully passed.
How to Check Results
Students can access their public examination results through the websites www.tnresults.nic.in and www.dge.tn.gov.in. Arrangements have also been made to send the results via SMS.
For the first time this year, a facility to access results via WhatsApp has been introduced. By sending a text message containing “Hi” to the WhatsApp number 7845252525, students can receive their exam results directly on WhatsApp.
