IPL 2026: Lucknow breaks the losing streak, beats RCB by 9 runs –

Tezzbuzz Desk- Lucknow Super Giants are finally back on the winning track in the Indian Premier League 2026. In the rain-affected match played at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 runs and ended the streak of 6 consecutive defeats. With this victory, the team has also kept alive its hopes of reaching the playoffs.

The match was stopped thrice due to rain, after which the match was reduced to 19-19 overs. However, despite the constraints of the weather, the fans were treated to a high-scoring and extremely exciting match, which was decided in the last over.

Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored 209 runs losing 3 wickets in 19 overs. On behalf of the team, Mitchell Marsh batted explosively and scored 111 runs in just 56 balls. His innings included 9 fours and 9 brilliant sixes. Marsh put pressure on the RCB bowlers from the beginning and hit big shots all around the ground.

Nicholas Pooran played a quick inning of 38 runs, while captain Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 32 runs to take the team to a strong score. For RCB, Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya and Rasik Salam took one wicket each.

Under the DLS rules, RCB got a revised target of 213 runs in 19 overs, but the team had a very poor start. Mohammed Shami sent Jacob Bethel to the pavilion in the very first over. After this, young bowler Prince Yadav gave a big blow to Virat Kohli by bowling him at zero in the second over.

Prince Yadav bowled brilliantly and took a total of 3 wickets and proved to be the biggest hero of Lucknow’s victory.

After the initial setbacks, captain Rajat Patidar tried to control the team by playing a responsible inning of 61 runs. Tim David also scored a brisk 40 runs. However, Shahbaz Ahmed changed the course of the match by dismissing both the set batsmen.

In the last overs, Krunal Pandya made the match exciting by scoring unbeaten 28 runs in 16 balls, but in the last over, Digvesh Rathi bowled brilliantly and saved 20 runs. RCB team could score only 203 runs for 6 wickets in 19 overs and Lucknow won the match by 9 runs.
