Following the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers in Bihar, unrest broke out on the streets of Patna as police reportedly charged at protesting candidates of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The situation escalated on Friday when a large group of candidates preparing for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 gathered, demanding the release of the official recruitment notification from the BPSC.

Protesters voiced their discontent against the Bihar government for the delay in the TRE 4.0 notification, calling for clear information regarding the recruitment process. As the crowd swelled and the protests intensified, police intervened and allegedly used batons to disperse the demonstrators. Within just 24 hours of the cabinet expansion, nearly 10,000 candidates took to the streets demanding the notification for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (BPSC TRE 4.0). The protest march began at Patna College and moved towards Dak Bungalow Chowk, causing significant traffic disruptions throughout the city.

Led by student leader Dilip Kumar, the protest raised three main demands. Candidates accused the government of unnecessarily delaying the TRE 3 recruitment process while millions awaited the TRE 4 notification. They also insisted that the government disclose the accurate number of vacancies and provide a clear timeline for the release of the recruitment notification. Another critical demand raised during the protests was the strict implementation of a residency policy prioritizing local youth in teacher recruitment.

Addressing the protesters, Dilip Kumar criticized the government for focusing on cabinet expansion while neglecting the concerns of unemployed youth preparing for recruitment exams. He emphasized that candidates have spent months studying in libraries for government jobs, yet their issues remain unaddressed. He further warned that if the recruitment notification is not released soon, the movement could escalate into an indefinite protest and sit-in.
