Exhibition Explores Memory, Home And BelongingThe exhibition, titled Geographies of Distance: Remembering Home, was curated by Amin Jaffer and brought together works by artists Alwar Balasubramaniam, Ranjani Shettar, Sumakshi Singh, Skarma Sonam Tashi, and Asim Waqif.
The artworks presented at the exhibition explored themes of memory, identity, home, and culture through different artistic styles. Alwar Balasubramaniam’s installation used clay and soil from Tamil Nadu. This art reflects on time and changes in the environment. Ranjani Shettar’s hanging sculpture took inspiration from flowers and nature.
Another highlight was Sumakshi Singh’s recreation of her demolished family home using embroidered thread. Skarma Sonam Tashi also showcased a papier-mache installation inspired by traditional Ladakhi architecture. Artist Asim Waqif also presented a large-scale bamboo structure examining transformation and urban life in contemporary India.
Ambani Family Blends Traditional Indian Textiles With Modern Luxury FashionMarking the occasion, Nita Ambani embraced Indian craftsmanship in an elegant chiffon-georgette saree designed by Anamika Khanna. The look featured a lace blouse detailed with hand-embroidered Banarasi motifs.

Adding another artistic touch to the appearance were her statement earrings by Wallace Chan. Crafted from rosewood and adorned with blooming titanium roots embellished with gemstones, the earrings symbolised love, compassion, and spiritual wisdom. One featured the calmness of sapphire, while the other reflected the intensity of ruby.
Mukesh Ambani wore a classic black business suit with a white shirt. As usual, he opts for a timeless, understated professional look.
Isha Ambani wore a crisp white button-down shirt tucked into a high-waisted emerald green brocade skirt. The skirt features traditional Indian weaving patterns (likely Banarasi). It contrasts beautifully with the modern shirt.
Radhika Merchant wore a dreamy, cream-colored off-the-shoulder ensemble with intricate self-on-self embroidery. The silhouette is feminine and modern. It features a draped bodice and a flowing skirt/pallu.
Anant Ambani wore a deep navy blue bandhgala or structured shirt-jacket. He maintains a consistent dark-toned style. It is a comfortable, yet formal Indian silhouette.
Anand Piramal wore a minimalist cream bandhgala (Jodhpuri jacket) over black trousers. This is a classic choice for Indian formal wear. The outfit focuses on clean lines and structured shoulders.
Shloka Mehta wore a striking metallic-sheen jacket with oversized buttons. She paired it with textured, olive-toned brocade trousers. It’s a high-fashion avant-garde.
