New Delhi: Congress’s landslide victory in the Kerala Assembly Elections has attracted the attention of the entire country, but now the biggest question is who will be in charge of this southern state? Amidst the celebration of victory, the suspense regarding the name of the Chief Minister is continuously deepening. To resolve this dilemma, the Congress high command has sent two of its senior leaders, Mukul Wasnik and Ajay Maken, to Thiruvananthapuram as observers. When Mukul Wasnik addressed the journalists on Friday, an interesting incident happened which changed the course of the entire political discussion.

The secret of MLAs’ choice revealed due to a small mistake

During the press conference, Mukul Wasnik was holding a file in his hand, with which he looked quite comfortable. But perhaps he had no idea that the eyes of the cameras were reaching the pages of his file. Wasnik held the file in such a way that a paper in it was clearly visible to the journalists and cameras. Within no time, the picture of that paper spread like wildfire on social media. It was being claimed that this was the same secret report in which the newly elected MLAs of Kerala had written down the name of their first choice for the post of Chief Minister.
A list was visible in the viral picture, in which the name of the chief ministerial candidate of their choice was written next to the names of the MLAs. The most shining name in that list was KC Venugopal. According to the paper, most of the MLAs have named organization general secretary KC Venugopal as their first choice for the post of Chief Minister of Kerala. As soon as Venugopal’s name surfaced, there was a wave of enthusiasm among the supporters, because not only is he considered close to the Delhi court, but he also has a very strong hold on the grassroots politics of Kerala. However, as soon as this picture went viral, Mukul Wasnik became defensive. He immediately clarified that this picture and the facts shown in it are completely wrong and have nothing to do with reality.
Trouble between three giants, Kharge’s decision awaited
Even if Mukul Wasnik is calling it just a coincidence or wrong information, the race for the post of CM in Kerala has now narrowed down to three big names. At number one is undoubtedly KC Venugopal, whose influence extends from Delhi to Kerala. The other strong contender is V.D. There is VD Satheesan, who as the Leader of Opposition had troubled the government in the Assembly and his popularity among the youth is sky high. At the third place is the name of Ramesh Chennithala, who has decades of experience in running the politics and administration of the state. Mukul Wasnik and Ajay Maken have now submitted their final report to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Now it will be interesting to see whether the high command approves the choice of that ‘viral file’ or Kerala gets a new surprise. Everyone’s heart is beating just waiting to know who will be the next ‘Captain’ of Kerala?
