Chhapra (Saran). On the occasion of the 148th Foundation Day of the International Red Cross Society and the birth anniversary of its founder Sir Henry Dunant, a grand and inspirational program was organized at the CPS Auditorium by the Red Cross Society, Chapra. This year the theme of the celebration was “Unity in Humanity”. The program started with the presentation of welcome song by the students of CPS. After this, Chief Guest District Magistrate Vaibhav Srivastava and other guests inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. State Representative Dr. Harendra Singh welcomed the guests by presenting them corsets, mementos and bouquets.
On this occasion, Chief Guest District Magistrate Vaibhav Srivastava said in his address that Red Cross is a powerful medium to provide assistance to the weak and needy people of the society. He appealed to the youth to join the organization and play an active role in social service work. The main speaker, Dr. Pramendra Ranjan Singh, Principal of Ganga Singh College, while highlighting in detail the life of Sir Henry Dunant, his thoughts and the establishment of the Red Cross movement, said that service, sacrifice and humanity are the real identity of the Red Cross. Dr. Shahzad Alam, Vice President of Red Cross Society, Chhapra, shared information about the social and humanitarian work done by the organization in the past. While discussing the future action plan, Dr. Suresh Singh gave information about the upcoming programs to health awareness, blood donation, disaster relief and social services.
Dr. S. Of. Parashar proposed the vote of thanks, while the program was conducted and coordinated by Dr. Vikash Kumar Singh. On this occasion, officials of Red Cross Society including Sanjay ji, Ravindra Singh, Murari Singh, Maheshwar Singh, educationists, social workers and a large number of students were present. The program ended with the national anthem and pledge to serve humanity.
