One of the best batting shows of IPL 2026 came from Finn Allen, with Kolkata Knight Riders beating Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The opening batter for the New Zealand team scored an undefeated score of 100 runs off 47 balls and overpowered the Delhi bowling attack. Allen smashed five boundaries and ten sixes through his outstanding knock and wrapped up the run-chase in 14.2 overs.

Allen broke many crucial records during his T20 and IPL career.

He became the first New Zealand batter ever to score three T20 centuries in a single calendar year. Earlier in 2026, Allen had scored 101 runs from 53 balls for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League and an unbeaten 100 off 33 balls for New Zealand in the T20 World Cup.

Now, he has added an unbeaten IPL century for KKR to complete a special record.

Brendon McCullum became the first New Zealand batter to score a century in IPL history before Allen accomplished this feat. McCullum had scored two IPL hundreds earlier, one for KKR and another for Chennai Super Kings.

The innings became even more special as Allen registered the fastest century ever for Kolkata Knight Riders. He reached his hundred in only 47 balls and broke the previous franchise record jointly held by Venkatesh Iyer and Sunil Narine, who had reached centuries in 49 balls.

Allen attacked from the start and never allowed DC bowlers to settle. He made the chase look simple because he hit the ball cleanly against both pace and spin deliveries.

Kolkata Knight Riders made light work of the target and finished the game comfortably with eight wickets in hand.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 13 runs from 9 balls before getting run out by Mitchell Starc. Angkrish Raghuvanshi managed only one run before Axar Patel dismissed him.

The entire chase became controlled by Finn Allen and Cameron Green. Green stayed unbeaten on 33 runs from 27 balls and played the perfect supporting role while Allen attacked from the other end.

Delhi Capitals bowlers had a very difficult evening. Kuldeep Yadav gave away 41 runs in three overs, while Vipraj Nigam leaked 34 runs in two overs. Axar Patel was the only wicket-taker with figures of 1/27 in four overs.

Allen’s innings included several huge sixes, including three consecutive maximums against Vipraj Nigam earlier in the chase. His fearless batting helped KKRregister one of their easiest wins of the season.

The knock will surely be remembered as one of the finest innings of IPL 2026.
