Patna. The ongoing student agitation demanding release of TRE-4 advertisements and changes in the rules and regulations of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) took a violent turn on Wednesday. When the protest march that started from Patna College reached JP Golambar, there was a tense situation between thousands of candidates and the police.

Police action on demonstration, chaos due to lathi charge-
Seeing the crowd increasing and the situation getting out of control, the police lathi-charged the protesting candidates. Many students were injured in this action. The police have also detained some student leaders.

This movement, led by student leader Dilip, has been going on against the delay in the TRE-4 recruitment process for a long time. Candidates were continuously demanding release of advertisement as soon as possible.

March stopped at JP Golambar-
The protesting students were marching from Patna College towards the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) office, but the police stopped them at JP Golambar. After this, tension increased and the situation went out of control.

Allegations of the candidates-
Student leader Dilip alleged that lakhs of candidates have been waiting for the TRE-4 vacancy for the last two years. He said that the government repeatedly assured to release the advertisement in 10-15 days, but till now no action has been taken.

He also alleged that due to lack of coordination between the education department and BPSC, the future of the candidates is being affected and the age limit of many is also on the verge of being exhausted.

BPSC’s old assurance is also incomplete-
In the notice issued by BPSC in February, it was said that the requisition has been received and advertisement of TRE-4 will be issued soon, but till now it has not been implemented.

Students say that if the advertisement is not issued soon, the agitation will be intensified and a big demonstration will be held again in Patna.
