Authorities have initiated an FIR against a cleric and another individual after serious allegations of gang rape surfaced. The cleric reportedly threatened the victim with death and claimed he would leak explicit videos if she disclosed the incident.
Incident Reported from Saharanpur District
A shocking incident has emerged from Saharanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. A woman from a village in the Fatehpur police station area accused a cleric and a young man of drugging her and committing gang rape at a mosque in the Sidki village of Nagal. Police confirmed that they have registered a case based on the victim's complaint and have commenced an investigation.
Cleric Suggested Exorcism
In her complaint to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abhinandan Singh, the victim stated that her only son was seriously ill. On April 15, a local youth advised her to seek an exorcism from the cleric. That same day, the youth took her and her son on a motorcycle to the mosque in Sidki.
Victim Drugged and Assaulted
It is alleged that at the mosque, the cleric mixed an amulet in water and made her drink it, causing her to lose consciousness. Subsequently, both the cleric and the young man assaulted her. The victim claims they recorded the incident and took photographs.
Threats to Victim and Her Son
Upon regaining consciousness, the victim was threatened by both men, who warned her that if she reported the incident, they would kill her and her son and release the videos. The young man then abandoned her outside the village.
Police Actively Searching for Suspects
After returning home, the victim informed her husband about the ordeal. The couple then approached SSP Abhinandan Singh to file a formal complaint. The SSP instructed Station Officer Vinay Sharma to conduct a thorough investigation based on the facts presented. Officer Sharma confirmed that a case has been registered, and the victim has been sent for a medical examination. He assured that legal action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation, and efforts are underway to locate both suspects.
