Thousands of fans gathered outside Mexico’s National Palace to catch a glimpse of the globally famous Korean music group BTS during their visit to Mexico City. The massive crowd demonstrated the group’s worldwide popularity as nearly 50,000 admirers waited outside the historic venue on Wednesday.

Videos circulating on social media showed BTS members appearing on the balcony of the National Palace after reportedly meeting Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Fans cheered loudly as the band members waved to the excited crowd gathered below.

One of the group’s members, V, thanked fans in Spanish for their warm welcome and overwhelming support. His gesture received huge appreciation online, with many fans praising the group’s connection with international audiences.
According to international media reports, BTS is scheduled to perform concerts in Mexico City on May 8, 9 and 10. The concerts are part of the group’s international activities following their return after a long break caused by mandatory military service in South Korea.

In 2022, BTS members RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, Jungkook, V and Jimin temporarily paused group activities to fulfill South Korea’s compulsory military service requirements. During that period, the members remained active individually by releasing solo music projects and staying connected with fans worldwide.

The group recently made a strong comeback and released a new album earlier this year, sparking excitement among fans globally. Their return has also reportedly boosted tourism and entertainment activities in South Korea, where BTS continues to hold enormous cultural and economic influence.

The scenes in Mexico once again highlighted BTS’s unmatched global fan following, with supporters traveling from different regions just to see the internationally celebrated music group in person.
