Prince Harry reportedly felt sad when his brother Prince William began spending more time with Princess Catherine's family, a royal author has claimed. While Harry and his brother Prince William have famously had troubles since Harry's 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle, it has been reported that these troubles existed a while before the wedding.

It is believed that while the brothers had been close, Prince William began spending more and more time with his wife Princess Catherine's family, especially once the couple had children, which reportedly was not something Harry was too happy about. It is believed this is because Harry was spending less and less time with his brother, and therefore felt "displaced".

These are the claims put forward by royal author Tina Brown in her book The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil.

Brown, who was reportedly given this insight by a former aide, wrote: "Harry felt displaced by their bougie family unit, and couldn't understand his brother's obsession with his Middleton in-laws, whose Bucklebury world bored Harry to tears.

"The [Waleses] had become a tight unit, and William a full-on Windsor country bumpkin.

"On weekends when he wasn't chez Middleton, he was tramping the grounds of Anmer Hall, the red-brick Georgian mansion on the Sandringham Estate that the Queen gave the couple as a wedding present, wearing a flat cap and tweed jacket like his 'turnip toff' Norfolk farmer friends."

Not only was Harry displeased with the changes in William's lifestyle once he became more of a family man, the author claims William was not too keen on Harry's partying ways.

Brown wrote: "For his part, William felt that Harry's unabated Jack the Lad behaviour was getting tiresome.

"He was less amused than the British public by either the strip billiards debacle in Las Vegas or Harry's ceaseless boozy nightclub forays with his rowdy friends.

"His younger brother's recklessness exasperated him."

Harry and William are no longer on talking terms anymore, and haven't been for some time. Their relationship began to display evident cracks after Harry married Meghan in 2018, and quit royal life in 2020.
