Vijay nears power in Tamil Nadu as VCK extends crucial support to TVK coalition

New Delhi: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay is likely to form a government after the actor-turned-politician missed the halfway mark after delivering a blockbuster show on his debut in politics. The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) has extended support to TVK to form the first coalition government in Tamil Nadu, NDTV reported.
TVK secured 107 seats, and with the support of five seats from Congress and four from the Left parties, Vijay’s TVK went to 116 seats, two less than needed to form a government, but with VCK’s two crucial seats added, the TVK-led coalition will touch the halfway-mark.
