Noida’s Phase-1 police station has busted an inter-state gang involved in two-wheeler theft and mobile robbery and arrested three vicious criminals. Police have recovered 17 stolen bikes and scooters, 8 snatched mobile phones and three illegal knives from the possession of the accused. Gang mastermind Suraj alias Chidha is also included among the arrested criminals, against whom more than 30 cases including theft, robbery and gangsterism are said to be registered in different police stations.
Noida Police has busted an inter-state gang involved in vehicle theft and mobile robbery and arrested three miscreants including gangster Suraj alias Chidha.
Police investigation revealed that gang leader Suraj used to roam around in different areas of Noida, Greater Noida and NCR during the day and do recce. He especially used to target two-wheelers parked outside factories, markets, malls and residential areas. During the day, he would see which places remained deserted, after which, as soon as night fell, he would reach the spot with his associates and steal bikes and scooters.
According to police officials, the stolen bikes were also used in incidents of mobile robbery and snatching. Eight looted and stolen mobile phones have been recovered from the arrested criminals. Police interrogation also revealed that the accused used to sell stolen bikes and scooters at very low prices. Police say that the network of this gang can be very big. The search for his other associates is also going on.
Noida’s Additional DCP Manisha Singh said that the police is now thoroughly interrogating the accused. It is feared that this gang may also be to other vehicle theft gangs of NCR. Police are trying to identify the recovered vehicles and return them to their rightful owners. At present, the police have arrested all three accused and sent them to jail.
The arrested accused Suraj alias Chidha has been to jail several times before. There are about 30 cases registered against it. According to the police, Suraj is an old player in the world of crime and he had prepared a gang of youth around him. This gang together was continuously carrying out incidents of vehicle theft and mobile robbery.
