Matches between MI and RCB are always anticipated as significant events, showcasing numerous star players from both teams. In a positive turn for MI, who have had a disappointing season thus far, they have confirmed that their star player Suryakumar Yadav will be participating in the upcoming match against RCB.

Suryakumar Yadav, captain of the Indian T20 team and a key player for Mumbai Indians, had to return home after the birth of his daughter. He left following the match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 4. There were uncertainties regarding his availability for the match against RCB, but according to reports, he has now made himself available and will rejoin the team in Raipur shortly. He had previously taken on the captaincy role in the match against Lucknow due to Hardik Pandya's injury.

The participation of Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya in the match against RCB is still uncertain. He is currently dealing with a back strain, and his availability will depend on assessments from the team's sports medicine head Ben Langley and physiotherapist Nitin Patel. Hardik underwent a fitness test on May 8, with another evaluation scheduled for May 9, and there are hopes he will join the team for practice later that evening. So far this season, Mumbai Indians have played 10 matches, winning only three and losing seven, making it crucial for them to secure victories in the remaining games to stay in contention for the playoffs.
