Sonam Kapoor on Saturday introduced the world to her second child by finally revealing his name on social media. The actor shared the announcement through a heartfelt Instagram post featuring family photos.

Sharing the joyous news, Sonam described the arrival of her newborn son as a meaningful spiritual connection with her elder son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja . She wrote, “In the spirit of the divine force that has once again transformed our lives… With love and gratitude, we welcome Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja."

Explaining the significance behind the name, Sonam further shared, “In the Vedas, Rudra (रुद्र), from the root rud, "to roar," is the mightiest of the mighty. The one who eradicates suffering at its source, the divine force behind storms, breath, healing, and renewal. He is deeply connected to Vayu, the prana that moves through all beings. Our firstborn carries the name of Vishnu, the sustainer of life. With Rudra, a sacred continuity emerges. Breath and power. Preservation and transformation. One strengthening the other."

She concluded her note by saying, "Like his name, may Rudra grow to be fearless, compassionate, deeply aware, and a force of strength and light.With gratitude for your love and blessings,Sonam, Anand, Vayu, and Rudra."

Soon after the post, congratulatory messages poured in from fans and members of the film industry. Bipasha Basu reacted with a heart-eyes emoji along with the evil-eye amulet emoji, while Sophie Choudry commented, “All the love and good wishes to you guys.” Kareena Kapoor also dropped heart emojis while Karan Johar commented that he loved the name.

Sonam and Anand Ahuja tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their first son, Vayu, in 2022. In recent years, Sonam has remained selective about her acting projects and has largely stayed away from frequent film appearances.
