Nora Fatehi to perform at FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony

Bollywood sensation Nora Fatehi, known for her blockbuster dance numbers, will perform at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, June 12, 90 minutes before kick-off. At 1:30 PM local time, Toronto will take center stage as Canada hosts a vibrant celebration inspired by its communities, rich diversity, and the unifying power of football. Global music stars including Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream, William Prince and several other international artists will help bring the celebration to life.

Through music reflecting the energy and diversity of the tournament, the event will connect fans in Toronto with celebrations taking place across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Produced in creative partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, the ceremony at Toronto Stadium is based on a shared vision linking the opening ceremonies across the three host nations, while also highlighting each country’s unique identity.

Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, said, “The opening ceremony in Toronto will be a powerful reflection of Canada’s identity and the energy surrounding FIFA World Cup 2026. Through music, culture, and unforgettable performances, we will welcome the world with a celebration that is uniquely Canadian while also connected to the larger story unfolding across Mexico and the United States.”

Fans attending the event are expected to play an active role in the celebration and are advised to arrive early, as the ceremony will begin 90 minutes before kick-off. Stadium gates will open four hours before the match, offering special activities, prizes, and pre-match entertainment.

In Canada’s opening World Cup match, the host nation will face Bosnia and Herzegovina. It will mark the first World Cup match played by the Canadian men’s national team on home soil, making it a historic moment for football in Canada.

A total of 104 matches will be played across 16 host cities during the tournament. The World Cup will begin on June 11 in Mexico City and conclude with the final on July 19 at the stadium in New York–New Jersey.
