Meghan Markle is set to be offered a multi-million dollar deal to star in a big-budget new movie.
Studio chiefs want the Duchess of Sussex to reunite with her former castmates for a blockbuster big-screen version of her hit TV series Suits, a top Hollywood source has revealed.
As well as co-starring in the film, executives are prepared to offer her a co-executive producer role that would enable her to earn a share of worldwide box office profits, according to the source, who said: "They believe it's a no-brainer.
"The original Suits show still attracts a massive audience on streaming giants Netflix and Peacock as well as endless reruns on terrestrial TV stations across America - in large part because of the popularity of her character Rachel Zane."
Meghan portrayed paralegal Rachel for seven series - a total of 108 episodes - before stepping away to marry Prince Harry and join the Royal Family in 2018.
The legal drama continued without her for only two further series and, in May last year, a spin-off show titled Suits: LA was cancelled after just 13 episodes.
The cult following Meghan's character attracted in the original show has continued to grow, however, since she and Harry arrived in America in March 2020 - and hit new heights via the two streaming networks.
Suits topped the Netflix charts for months on end between 2023 and 2025 and, in the summer of 2023 set a record - that still stands - of being watched around the world for 3.7 billion minutes in a single week.
Now show creator Aaron Korsh is, according to our source, in "advanced talks" with senior executives at Universal Pictures, the Hollywood studio that is a sister company to American TV network NBC, which aired his original series.
Korsh - who remains a close friend of Meghan - has declined to publicly comment other than to tease: "We might do a Suits movie. That could be fun."
Meghan's former co-stars, including Patrick J Adams, Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres, are all said to have been "sounded out" about a big screen reunion and the source added: "All seem to be on board barring minor scheduling conflicts.
"Now it's pretty much over to Meghan. There's no doubt this would be a huge payday for her as well as maintaining a high-profile and restoring public goodwill that, aside from her core fans, has been falling away in recent years."
Meghan, 44, will be seen on screen soon in a cameo role playing herself in the upcoming Netflix comedy film Close Personal Friends, alongside Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
Her acting comeback comes after Netflix declined to renew the five-year "megabucks" deal she and Harry, 41, signed shortly after arriving in the US.
The streaming giant also axed her cookery show With Love, Meghan after just two series and ditched their marketing agreement with her online "lifestyle" brand As Ever.
With Harry and Megan's star having waned in Hollywood our source declared: "A Suits movie might just have come along at exactly the right time."
