Nepal Limits Indian Vehicle Entries New Rule: A big news has come out for Indians traveling to Nepal. If you frequently visit Nepal in your personal vehicle, now you will have to keep track of your travels. The Nepal government has made the rules regarding entry of Indian vehicles extremely stringent. According to the new rules, now any Indian vehicle can enter Nepal ‘Bhansar’ only a maximum of 30 times in a year. Will be able to enter after getting the customs clearance done.

‘Bhansar’ What changed in the rules?

Nepal QR Code based digital monitoring system has been implemented for Indian vehicles on the border, under which the entry of vehicles is being tracked at major border points like Badhni, Khunuwan and Kakarhwa in Siddharthnagar district.

According to this new rule, if a vehicle crosses the limit of 30 times in a year and tries to enter for the 31st time, it will be stopped at the border itself and will have to pay a heavy fine for violation.

Stopping time limits and heavy fines

These rules are not limited to entry only but restrictions have also been imposed on the period of stay in Nepal. Now Indian vehicles can stay there only for a maximum of 30 days in a year or at a time. If any vehicle stops beyond this time limit then it will have to pay a heavy fine of 2500 Nepalese rupees per day. Which will be equally applicable to bikes, cars and all other four-wheelers.

Current Fee Structure

Government of Nepal’s ‘Major Duty 2071’ As per the rules, it is illegal to drive a vehicle without permission and without paying the daily fee. Under this, a daily fee of 100 Nepali rupees for two-wheelers, 400 rupees for three-wheelers and 600 rupees for car, jeep or van has been fixed, which is required to be paid.

According to Bhansar Superintendent Mayank Kumar Karna, incidents of Indian vehicles entering without permission had increased in recent times, which was creating tax evasion and security threat. To stop these illegal activities and tax evasion, the government has set limits on digital QR system and entry.

Impact on general public and tourists

This new rule is causing the most trouble to those people who have relatives in Nepal or who have property there. Apart from this, it has also become a big challenge for tourist vehicles carrying patients and tourists going to Bhairahawa or Bharatpur for treatment of serious diseases. Families going to meet their daughters during the wedding season will also have to go through these paper and digital formalities.
