Actually, it is impossible to cover mother in one day. Mother is the birth giver. The first is the Guru. The first is inspiration. Mother is the courage of every child. We all learned to walk for the first time by holding our mother's finger. There are less than 365 days in a year to honor the mother. But, Mother's Day is being celebrated all over the world including India. According to the date, this day to remember our mother is fixed for 10th May this time. The tradition of celebrating Mother's Day every year on the second Sunday of May has been going on for more than a hundred years. It started from America but the market took it to the whole world. There were many great men in the history of India who gave a new direction to the country, society and humanity.

1- Jijabai: Mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Jijabai was not just a mother. She was a great culture-builder. He narrated the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata to little Shivaji. These stories awakened the feelings of religion, justice and self-respect in his mind. Jijabai taught him that kingship means protection of the people. She wanted that Shivaji should never bow before injustice. He taught us to be patient even in difficult times. It was these values of his that made Shivaji the great hero of Hindu Swaraj.

2- Putlibai: Mother of Mahatma Gandhi
Putlibai was very religious, restrained and compassionate. His life was simple. She used to keep fast. Used to pray. Used to help the needy. Young Mohandas Gandhi used to watch his mother very carefully. He learned his first lessons of truth, non-violence, patience and self-control at home. The influence of Putlibai was so deep on Mahatma Gandhi that later on, the same values became the basis of his life. The world called Gandhi a Mahatma, but the first school of that Mahatma was his mother.

3- Jaywantabai: Mother of Maharana Pratap
Jaywantabai instilled the seeds of bravery and dignity in the mind of her son Pratap. She was from a royal family, but her heart was full of courage and self-respect. He taught Pratap that respect is greater than wealth. The value of freedom is greater than power. This was the reason why Maharana Pratap chose a difficult life, but did not accept subjugation. He accepted forests, mountains, grass-fed food and a life full of struggle. His mother's values were behind such steadfast thinking.

Bhuvaneshwari Devi was a woman of intelligent, self-respect and strong nature. His son Narendranath later became Swami Vivekananda. Narendra was very curious in his childhood. They used to ask questions. Never sat still. Instead of scolding him, his mother gave him the right direction. She would tell them stories of bravery. She also explained the importance of compassion and self-respect. His mother had a deep contribution to Vivekananda's sharp intelligence, fearlessness and high thoughts. He not only taught his son but also made him strong from within.

5- Vidyavati: Mother of Martyr Bhagat Singh
Vidyavati's life was full of struggle. There was an atmosphere of patriotism in his family. Young Bhagat Singh used to hear about the atrocities of the British rule since childhood. His mother did not teach him fear. He gave courage to stand against injustice. When Bhagat Singh grew up and walked on the path of revolution, a mother's heart must have trembled. Prabhavati Devi was the pivot of a very cultured and disciplined family. His son Subhash was sharp, sensitive and introspective since childhood. Mother instilled in him the spirit of service and discipline. The atmosphere at home was both religious and moral. Subhash started thinking about the country and society from a very young age. Later on he left the comfortable life. Made the country's independence his goal. Netaji's strong will, discipline and sacrifice had their roots in the values of his home and especially his mother.
7- Ramdulari Devi: Mother of Lal Bahadur Shastri
Ramdulari Devi lived a very difficult life. When Lal Bahadur was young, his father died. There was scarcity in the house. Resources were less. But, the mother did not lose courage. He showed his son the path of honesty, simplicity and hard work. Lalbahudar Shastri saw poverty since childhood, hence humility developed in him. He was short in stature, but had a very tall character. The foundation of humility and truthfulness of the country's second Prime Minister, who gave the slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, was laid by his mother.

8- Moolmati: Mother of Ram Prasad Bismil
Moolmati taught the lessons of righteousness, courage and duty to her son Ram Prasad Bismil. Bismil was sharp and sensitive since childhood. His mother inspired him to read good literature. He called character the biggest asset. When Bismil became a revolutionary, danger also came at home. But Moolmati did not show weakness. It is said that he inspired his son to remain steadfast for the country. Bismil's courage remained steadfast even in front of the gallows. Behind that unbreakable mind was the power of mother.

Mother Tripta's nature was very gentle. She understood the different world inside her son Nanak. Nanak was calm, thoughtful and kind since childhood. He did not like worldly show off. Many people might have considered such a child strange, but his mother loved him. Recognized the purity of his mind. Guru Nanak later became a great saint who gave the message of love, equality and truth. His mother's love was also a source of his inner compassion and sweetness.
10- Aryamba: Mother of Adi Shankaracharya
Aryamba was a learned and religious woman. His son Shankar had extraordinary intelligence since childhood. It is said that he had acquired the knowledge of the scriptures at a very young age. After the death of his father, his mother took care of him. Shankar's mind was towards renunciation, but this was not an easy thing for a mother. Yet Aryamba recognized her son's potential. They didn't stop him. Later, the same child was in front of the whole world in the form of Adi Shankaracharya. Gave new strength to Indian philosophy. Mother's silent sacrifice stood behind such great sadhana.

Such mothers are the real strength of India. They are less visible in the pages of history, but they make history.
