In the town of Kandhla, Shamli, an unusual atmosphere prevailed one day. Residents whispered among themselves, questioning, “Is it really possible for a wife to vanish with her husband’s money and jewelry while he sleeps on a bus?”

A local man experienced this bizarre situation firsthand. He had been living in Dehradun with his wife, running a salon together. With their hard-earned savings, they had purchased a plot in their hometown. On that day, they were returning by bus with cash and jewelry. The husband, exhausted from the journey, fell asleep. When he awoke, he found the seat next to him empty. His wife was missing, along with the bag containing their money and valuables.

In a panic, he searched every corner of the bus, but there was no sign of her. Doubts flooded his mind—was this a premeditated scheme or a sudden decision? Feeling defeated, he went straight to the police station to file a report, accusing his wife of absconding with their money and jewelry.

However, this was not the end of the story.

From another neighborhood in the same town, another shocking incident emerged. A woman was accused of taking a lakh rupees from her home and returning to her first husband. The victim had married five years ago, and although their relationship had grown distant over time, he believed his wife would remain loyal.

The reality was quite different. The woman took the cash and went back to her former spouse. This man informed the police that during their marriage, his wife had taken loans from two banks. The burden of repaying those loans was already a concern, but this new betrayal was a shock.

Both incidents have caused a stir in the town. On one hand, a husband remained on the bus while his wife vanished with their belongings. On the other, a woman abandoned her new life to return to an old relationship.

The police are investigating both cases. Locals are saying, “Trust has become the most expensive thing these days. You never know when someone will leave you.”
