Minister D. Sudhakar passes away after prolonged illness

Bengaluru: Minister for Planning and Statistics D. Sudhakar passed away in the early hours of Sunday at approximately 3:15 am after struggling with a prolonged illness. He was 65.
Sudhakar was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of KIMS Hospital in Electronic City, Bengaluru.
A prominent leader with a strong hold over the Hiriyur constituency, Sudhakar was elected as an MLA three times. In 2008, he was elected as an independent candidate and served as a minister in the Yediyurappa cabinet. He is survived by his wife, Harshini, and two children.
The mortal remains of Sudhakar are being transported to Chitradurga.
