Delhi: In the 52nd match of IPL 2026, on Saturday, May 9, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 77 runs. Thanks to the half-centuries of captain Shubhman Gill and Sai Sudarshan, Gujarat had set a target of 230 runs for Rajasthan. In reply, Rajasthan’s batsmen had no match against the charismatic bowling of Rashid Khan. Rajasthan could not even play its 20 overs and collapsed for only 152 runs. With this victory, Gujarat took a huge leap and reached second place in the points table.

Gujarat gave a big target to Rajasthan with the innings of Gill-Sudarshan

Thanks to the brilliant half-centuries of captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan, Gujarat Titans had given the target of 230 runs to Rajasthan Royals. Gill played an innings of 84 runs in 44 balls. Gill hit 9 fours and three sixes in his innings. Whereas Sudarshan scored 55 runs in 36 balls. Sudarshan hit six fours and two sixes in his innings. In the last over, Washington Sundar played a brilliant inning of 37 runs in 20 balls. Due to which Gujarat scored 229 runs after losing four wickets in 20 overs. Fast bowler Brijesh Sharma took maximum two wickets for Rajasthan.

Rajasthan’s batting bowed before Rashid Khan

Rajasthan had an excellent start in chasing the target. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 36 runs in 16 balls. But only after his dismissal, Rajasthan batsmen gradually started getting out. Gujarat bowlers bowled brilliantly under the leadership of Rashid Khan. Rashid took the big wickets of Dhruv Jurel, Donovan Ferreira, Shubham Dubey and Ravindra Jadeja. Rashid took a total of four wickets. Apart from this, Jason Holder got three successes. Kagiso Rabada took two wickets. While Mohammad Siraj took one wicket. Rashid Khan was chosen player of the match for his excellent bowling. Due to the brilliant bowling by Gujarat bowlers, Rajasthan got bundled out for only 152 runs and lost the match.
