Actor turned politician and TVK leader Thalapathy Vijay took the oath today to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. Interestingly, the first major Tamil film release after Vijay’s government takes charge will be ‘ Karuppu ’ starring Suriya and Trisha Krishnan . The film is directed by RJ Balaji .

But the makers recently shared a fresh poster of Suriya and Trisha and confirmed that the film will release on May 14. Fans became excited after the update and started sharing the poster online.

RJ Balaji thanks fans ahead of trailer launchToday, RJ Balaji also shared an emotional message on his X (formerly Twitter) handle. He wrote, “Amidst all the political chaos, I thank each and every fan, who kept the interest & hype alive for #Karuppu.”
He further added, “Now that it’s a happy ending, lets get ready for the trailer in the evening at 7pm. Bookings will open simultaneously.”

The director also praised Suriya and said, “@Suriya_offl sir’s Peak Sambavam Loading.”

The rumours became even stronger after reports claimed that Trisha visited Vijay at his residence after his election victory. Today, the actress was seen leaving her residence to attend the oath-taking ceremony. In a video captured by media outlets, the ‘Karuppu’ actress spoke about today as she briefly said, “Thank you, looking forward.” She is seen in a stunning traditional look, wearing a blue and golden Kanjeevaram saree with a diamond set and gajra adorning her chic hairdo. At the event, she was seen greeting Vijay’s family and other dignitaries.
