Lucknow Super Giants' Josh Inglis put on a spectacle of raw power against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026 at Chepauk. It was a bold opening for his innings as he started smashing Akeal Hosein from the very first over itself. However, the highlight of the powerplay was Inglis' two reverse sixes that he smashed against the pacers.
The Australian had pre-planned the shot as he jumped across early on a back-of-a-length ball outside off-stump bowled by Mukesh in the second over and Inglish reverse-paddled it over third-man for a six.
In the very next over against Anshul Kamboj, he played the exact same shot. A reverse pull over third-man on a short-pitched ball as he predicted the length even earlier and it was another six. The 31-year-old had made a statement of his intentions to the CSK bowlers.

Inglis Takes Over the Control on the CSK Bowlers
CSK brought back Akeal into the attack and Inglis took the full control by making the use of the pace of Akeal Hosein by coming forward against him and playing aggressive shots. A well-timed cover-drive and a pull over mid-wicket was proof that his repertoire of strokes contained both power as well as delicate ones. He was always one step ahead against any changes in pace and lengths.
LSG opener went berserk on CSK's reliable spinner as the 31-year-old ammased 19 runs of the over.
Rapid Fifty Puts LSG in Strong Position
Inglis achieved his fifty off a mere 17 balls, third quickest fifty ever recorded for LSG in the history of IPL. His innings involved clean hitting down the ground and pulling down straight, along with deft play of feet. He has now joined the likes of Nicholas Pooran in the category of LSG's fastest fifties. His innings provided the LSG with the perfect impetus, putting the CSK on the back foot immediately in their backyard.
His explosive knock also made a team record as LSG posted 50 runs in just 3.4 overs, the joint-fastest for them in the history of IPL. Although CSK has managed to bag two crucial wickets of Marsh and Pooran, the visitors are all set to post a huge total at Chepauk, posing a perpetual threat to CSK's playoffs' chances.
