Lucknow, Read: Due to the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and technology-based transparent system, milk business in the villages of the state is becoming a strong medium for economic self-reliance of rural women. More than eighteen thousand women of Awadh region have become ‘Lakhpati Didi’ by joining the dairy business. Now these women are not limited to just animal husbandry, but are contributing a lot to the family income by directly connecting with the market through organized milk trade.
The milk network developed by the government has almost eliminated the role of middlemen. The entire process of milk quality checking, collection, sale and payment is being conducted through digital medium. Through mobile application and online system, women are getting instant information and payment is reaching their bank accounts directly every ten days.
In the Awadh region, through the women-owned ‘Samarthya Milk Producer Company’, more than 1.25 lakh women have been trained in modern milk production, quality management and digital payment system. In the last three years, these same women have been collecting more than four lakh liters of milk every day.
Women milk producers are being paid directly into their bank accounts every ten days. This has increased transparency in the system and also strengthened the confidence of rural women.
