Youngster Urvil Patel made one of the thrilling moments of IPL 2026 after smashing 3 sixes in a row off Avesh Khan in the chase against LSG at Chepauk, Chennai on Sunday.
Chasing 204 to win, CSK have looked attacking since the word go in the powerplay and although Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson made sure that the innings got off to a great start, the game changed for Chepauk with the attacking knock of Urvil Patel.
At the time of writing, CSK have raced to 73/1 in 5.1 overs and require 131 runs in 89 balls.

Urvil Patel destroys Avesh Khan
The six-hitting display came from the young batter when Avesh Khan was brought into the attack for the 5th over. Ruturaj had already sent him for a six in the same over, putting a lot of pressure back on the LSG camp but it went worse for the LSG team when Urvil Patel got a hold of him.
The young batter smashed the full ball for a massive six over deep mid-wicket and on the very next ball, he again freed his front leg and dispatched another maximum over wide mid-on. And with an absolute blast over mid-wicket once more over a slot ball, Urvil completed his hat-trick of sixes. The spell of the pacer saw him conceding 25 runs.
The courageous hitting by Urvil Patel put the LSG under immediate pressure at a critical time of the game.
CSK Batters Take Charge in the Chase
Sanju Samson gave CSK a solid start of 28 off 14 balls before Urvil's assault that had three 4s and two 6s in it. Ruturaj Gaikwad kept up his attacking intent, and remains at the crease with 26 runs off just 13 balls.
Urvil Patel rocketed away to 19 off four balls at a sensational strike rate of 475.00, pushing the match into a high-scoring affair very quickly.
Earlier on, Lucknow Super Giants amassed a strong total of 203 as Josh Inglis hit a majestic 85 off just 33 balls. Jamie Overton was the most successful of the CSK bowlers picking up three wickets and Dewald Brevis also ran out Aiden Markram with a sensational direct hit.
Though LSG went well past the 200 mark, CSK’s start in this innings keeps them well within this match, and with the crowd cheering and the momentum shifting, it’s turning out to be a great IPL 2026 encounter at Chepauk.
