The current Indian T20I captain in men's cricket, Suryakumar Yadav, has recently become the father of a girl-child. And now, after he was spotted in the airport, he shared a pack of sweets with the paps. In a video that went viral on social media, Surya was seen being approached by a group of paps at the airport. There he posed and then picked out a bag of sweets from a packet and gave it to them.

While some of the fans taunted about giving a "small box" of sweets, many appreciated the gesture. Watch the video here:

On May 10, Suryakumar Yadav's wife Devisha Shetty gave birth to their first child, a baby girl. The couple later revealed her name, Riddhima. The birth occurred during the ongoing IPL 2026 season. Suryakumar reportedly skipped a trip to Raipur to be with his family for the occasion. The interaction with the paps happened when he was at the airport, about to take his flight to join the side for their match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Suryakumar Yadav's struggle in IPL

Suryakumar Yadav has been undergoing a massive slump in this game for the Mumbai Indians. Last year, he was the MVP for his side, taking them to the playoffs. Compared to that, he is struggling, with his entire side except a few following the same.

The contrast between his previous season and this one is huge. He set a record for the Mumbai Indians with 717 runs, while now he has scored just 195 runs after 10 matches. He had an average as low as 19.50 and a strike rate of 142.52. The only time he batted well was against Delhi Capitals when he scored 51 runs.

Amid the odds, his T20I captaincy is also under scrutiny despite winning the 2026 T20I World Cup. Reports claimed that the BCCI is considering moving on from him as captain after IPL 2026 to focus on long-term planning for the 2028 Olympics. Several names have come in the list of his successors. However, SKY is believed to have some chance till the Ireland series.
