Surya was recently spotted outside the airport as he was getting ready to join his Mumbai Indians teammates in Raipur.

Veteran batter spotted a few photo journalists standing outside waiting for their chance to click some pictures. That’s when the right-handed batter pulled off a box of sweets and handed it to them and said: “Here are some sweets, make sure you all eat them, please.” The thoughtful gesture has won the hearts of many fans who lauded the player for his down-to-earth approach.

Mumbai will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their 11th game of the season on Sunday in Raipur. The former IPL winners have just won three matches this season and will have to avoid a defeat if they have to keep their minimal hopes of making it to the playoffs.

Ex-India player cautions Mumbai against RCB’s pace ace

The last time these two sides met was earlier this season, with Bengaluru winning by 18 runs. On that occasion, the defending champions had scored 240 runs as their batters ran riot at the Wankhede Stadium. The current IPL champions have a good record recently against their upcoming opponents, having won four of the last five games.

Deep Dasgupta has warned the Men in Blue and Gold about the threat posed by Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood. In his chat with ESPN Cricinfo’s timeout programme, the former India star said, “I’ll be keenly watching how Mumbai openers face off against Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hazlewood. We have seen the likes of Marsh and Gill use their feet against the pacer. The bowler (Hazlewood) also knows what the opposition is planning, and one wonders how he will react.”

Mitchell McClenaghan reveals his favourite player ahead of the RCB vs MI game

Former MI pacer Mitchell McClenaghan has named Ryan Rickelton as his favourite player to watch out for. The left-handed batter has been the best player for the struggling Men in Blue and Gold this campaign and has managed to score 243 runs from his three encounters.

McClenaghan, speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, said, “Rickelton has played fewer games than Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and isn’t far behind in the most sixes hit this season. The batter has been scoring runs at a quick pace, so it will be interesting to see how he goes.”
