Recently, doctors extracted a massive 6 kg hairball from the stomach of a teenage girl. Reports indicate that this girl had been pulling and eating her hair for the past six years.

Health Complications Arise

The 15-year-old girl, known by the pseudonym Nini, resides in Henan province in central China. She visited the Wuhan Children's Hospital in the neighboring Hubei province with her mother. According to a report from a state-run news website, the girl was extremely thin, standing at 1.6 meters tall and weighing only 35 kg. Additionally, she had not experienced her menstrual cycle for six months.

Severe Abdominal Pain Leads to Hospital Visit

As reported by the South China Morning Post, Nini informed her mother about the intense abdominal pain she was experiencing. The pain was so severe that it hindered her ability to eat or perform daily activities, prompting her mother to take her to the hospital.

A Shocking Discovery

The report revealed that Nini was also suffering from severe anemia. Her mother informed the doctors that the girl had been consuming her hair for six years. Upon examination, doctors discovered a large mass of hair and remnants of food accumulated in her stomach. The extraction of the hair left everyone astonished.

Similar Case Reported in Jaipur

A similar incident occurred at the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur, where a 14-year-old girl had a 210-centimeter hairball removed from her stomach. This case was noted as having the longest hairball ever extracted, surpassing the previous record of 180 centimeters. The girl from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, had been suffering from abdominal pain and vomiting for nearly a month before the doctors discovered a hard mass in her stomach.
