As actor-politican Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) nears a historic win over Tamil Nadu, political strategist and Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founder Prashant Kishor’s big prediction from 2025 has suddenly gone viral.

With just hours to go before the results are declared for Tamil Nadu, Vijay and his party are already leading in 114 seats—just 11 short of the majority mark of 118 in the state’s 234-seat Assembly.

This is well ahead of the DMK-led SPA alliance, which leads with 50 seats, while the AIADMK alliance has 47 seats to its name—something that was not projected by most exit polls this year, except for the Axis My India survey.

Amid the counting process, netizens recalled an old video in which Kishor could be seen standing with the Jana Supervisor actor-politician at what seemed to be a TVK event.

“If I help TVK win next year, who would be more popular in Tamil Nadu? My fellow Bihari, MS Dhoni, who makes CSK win every time, or Prashant Kishor?” he said, in a major prediction that seemed impossible to people at the time.

He had also declared that helping the TVK win in Tamil Nadu would also help him overtake former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain M.S. Dhoni to become the “most popular Bihari” in the state.

Kishor is a prolific political strategist, who is said to have played key roles in PM Modi’s rise to power in 2014 and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s record win in the 2021Assembly elections.

In another interview with Thanthi TV that year, he had reiterated that Vijay had a “good chance” of winning over the state if he were to contest alone, if the AIADMK were to join the BJP, and and the DMK alliance holds strong by itself.

“Keep this video and play it when the results come in. He has a good chance, provided he puts in the effort and number of hours and can build a political infrastructure around him,” Kishor had said in that interview.
