The two Mumbai Indians fielders, Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir, engaged in a drizzle of fight after Tilak dropped an easy catch almost managed by Naman in the deep. And the catch was Krunal Pandya's, the lone man fighting for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The mess happened in the 18th over of Allah Ghazanfar. Krunal, who was badly fighting a cramp, went for a slog sweep. But all that was managed was top-edge. Naman Dhir did a great job to get the ball. But when he realized that he was running outside the boundary, he threw it towards Tilak, watching him towards the boundary.
Meanwhile, Tilak got confused. The ball dropped right in front of his feet. He not only just missed the catch but even gestured to the umpire, saying that it was a six.
Tilak claimed that Naman's leg touched the boundary cushion, a reason due to which he left the ball. And this triggered Dhir. He repeated, animatedly, asking Tilak why he didn't, but all he got was an apology!

But what exactly happened?
If seen from multiple angles, it will be clear that there was not a single frame that showed Naman touched the boundary. Rather, when he tried to jump on the boundary, he tripped on his own foot. And that seemed like he had touched the foot—something Kohli argued in the dug out after Tilak claimed.
Tilak Varma's redemption
After the drop, Krunal hit two sixes. He was struggling but made sure that his team gets a chance to win even after he departs. Virat Kohli, in the dugout, was seen disturbed by how Krunal was not granted a maximum in the dropped chance.
However, in the final ball, Tilak got his redemption. Maybe not a redemption, but to justify his athletic abilities and presence of mind.
This time it's just him. Krunal went flat to long on. Tilak ran across and went for the catch. But then he realized he is motioning to cross the boundary. He took the ball and threw it in the air right before going outside and caught the ball back after he entered inside.
Krunal Pandya's gusty knock ended at 73 runs. He got those in 46 balls hitting four boundaries and five sixes.
